Smarter Phones
Fall 2026
We followed the story of communication from message sticks, talking drums, optical telegraphs, and early telephones to the phones we use today. We learned that a “smarter” phone doesn’t always need more features, and imagined future devices that help people stay connected without asking for their attention all day. Then we designed our own personal, family, or network communicator for the year 2042.
