Coral Reefs
Winter 2026
We learned how coral reefs are living underwater cities built by tiny animals called polyps using calcium carbonate, and how they work together with algae to stay colorful and healthy. We also learned about challenges reefs face today—like warming oceans and pollution—and imagined how we can redesign reefs for the future. Then, we designed and built our own future coral reefs that can heal, protect, or adapt!
